Otoplasty | Ear Surgery

Otoplasty is the correction of protruding, large or deformed ears to improve facial balance. This surgery is performed on adults or children for a variety of reasons, including:

  • Correction of macrotia, a condition that results in large ears
  • Reconstruction of a defective, deformed or absent ear
  • Improved ear shape
  • Address the protrusion of one or both ears

The incision is hidden behind the ears, and can be beneficial to improving a patient’s esteem and appearance.

Otoplasty is an outpatient procedure performed under local anesthesia with sedation. Many of our patients return to light activity in a day or two and make a full recovery within several weeks.
