Cellulite is famously hard to get rid of. This is because fibrous bands of connective tissue are woven throughout fat, especially in the thighs and buttocks. These tight bands can pull down the skin when the layer of fat pushes past it, creating the dimpled look known as cellulite. Unfortunately, cellulite can be genetic, meaning losing weight isn’t always an effective solution. If you’re bothered by cellulite, then professional treatments with Dr. DiFrancesco can help.

What is Cellfina?

Most women experience cellulite at some point, whether because of weight gain or genetics. There are a staggering number of products available that promise to get rid of cellulite, but don’t often produce results. Some of the most effective ways to reduce the appearance of cellulite is with the latest in-office procedures. Cellfina™ is an FDA-approved treatment that has been featured on The Doctors and Good Morning America. Unlike over-the-counter products, it addresses the primary structural cause of cellulite. A small minimally-invasive, needle-sized device releases the cellulite-causing bands just beneath the surface of the skin. Once released, skin in the treated areas smooths out.

Candidates for Cellfina

Patients who experience cellulite and dimpling can benefit from Cellfina treatments. Good candidates often have telltale divots in the buttocks and thighs where cellulite bands pull the skin down. Since this treatment requires a local anesthetic, we’ll go over your health history to make sure Cellfina is the right option for you. During a consultation with Dr. DiFrancesco, we’ll create your ideal treatment plan along with any other non-surgical treatment options that can boost your results.

Cellfina Procedure

Cellfina is a one-time, in-office procedure which take approximately 45 minutes. First, a local anesthetic is administered so that you’re comfortable and relaxed throughout the treatment. Then, the specialized handpiece is used to disrupt the bands underneath the skin in precise areas. After the area has been appropriately treated, you can return home.

Cellfina Recovery

There’s little to no downtime required. Some patients experience minimal soreness and bruising afterwards, but these effects resolve quickly— usually in about a week. Results can be visible in as little as three days. Cellfina™ produces precise, long-lasting results that typically last for at least three years.
