What is Avéli?
Cellulite is a product of the way that the female body stores fat. Tethering the skin to the deeper tissues are small fibrous bands. While fat pushes the skin outward, these bands pull the skin inward, resulting in small dimples we know as cellulite. Although some women reduce cellulite by reducing fat, other women naturally have visible cellulite in areas like the buttocks and thighs. Unfortunately, there are many treatments and creams that promise to get rid of cellulite but don’t produce results.
Avéli is a minimally invasive treatment that releases these fibrous bands from the inside and relieves tension on the skin resulting in visibly smoother skin. Using a local anesthetic, it treats the underlying cause with a small, specialized handpiece for a thorough approach to cellulite reduction. One treatment session is typically all that’s needed to reduce the appearance of cellulite dimples. Although it doesn’t help with improving skin laxity, skin tightening, or fat reduction, it can easily be combined with other body contouring devices like SculpSure®.
Avéli vs. Renuva® Fat Transfer
Renuva® is a fat transfer treatment that can be used to reduce the appearance of cellulite but in a different way. Renuva uses screened donor fat tissue to fill in dimples indicative of cellulite rather than releasing the fibrous bands under the skin. For patients who want long-term results or who don’t want to add volume, Avéli can be a more appropriate option. However, for some patients, a combination approach of Avéli and Renuva can produce the best results.

Avéli Recovery
Avéli comes with minimal recovery and most patients can return to regular activities within 1-2 days. It’s normal to experience some numbness or soreness for the first few days and you can manage any discomfort with a protected ice pack applied 15 minutes at a time. It can be helpful to wear compressive clothing like leggings to help reduce swelling and support your results. You’ll begin to see final results within 1-2 months with a noticeable reduction in the look of cellulite and dimpling in the thighs and buttocks.
