What is Skin Tightening with BodyTite?

Unlike other skin-tightening treatments, BodyTite doesn’t just tighten skin. It uses radiofrequency-assisted lipolysis to remove unwanted fat as well. It is often used along with liposuction to remove unwanted fat and improve body contouring. By simultaneously eliminating unwanted fat and tightening the skin, you receive a contoured and toned look quickly and easily, and with very little downtime.

How BodyTite Works

The BodyTite procedure uses radiofrequency-assisted lipolysis (RFAL), an advanced body contouring treatment that addresses both stubborn fat and loose skin. During treatment, the BodyTite device delivers controlled radiofrequency energy beneath the skin’s surface, melting fat cells while simultaneously stimulating collagen production for long-term tissue tightening. Preparing for Skin Tightening with BodyTite

Before your BodyTite procedure, Dr. DiFrancesco may give you specific instructions to ensure a smooth treatment and recovery. Preparation may include:

• Avoid blood thinners or certain supplements that increase bleeding risk.
• Arranging for someone to drive you home if sedation is used.
• Maintaining your ideal weight for optimal results.
• Wearing loose clothing to the appointment to make the treated area more comfortable afterward.

Most patients require little preparation since BodyTite is a minimally invasive treatment, but following your surgeon’s guidelines helps reduce complications and improve BodyTite recovery outcomes.

Your BodyTite Appointment 

To start the BodyTite treatment, we’ll first administer local anesthesia to ensure you’re comfortable throughout the procedure. Oral or IV sedation may be used. 

Once the anesthesia has kicked in, we’ll make a small incision in the treatment area. This is so we can easily insert one of the probes from the BodyTite device under the skin. BodyTite is often preformed along with other procedures such as liposuction. 

The probes emit radiofrequency energy that will liquify the fat cells while also heating the deep layers of tissue to increase collagen production and tighten your skin over time. Once the fat is liquified your body will naturally dispose of the fat. When the treatment is finished, we will close the small incision, and you’ll be ready to start your recovery. 

Steps for BodyTite 

1. On the day of your BodyTite treatment, you’ll be given local anesthesia (or general anesthesia if multiple areas are being treated).
2. A small incision is made in the treatment area, and the BodyTite system uses a pair of probes to safely deliver heat energy.
3. Once the fat cells are liquified, your body naturally eliminates them, leaving behind a slimmer, more defined contour.

If needed, BodyTite can be combined with traditional liposuction for enhanced fat reduction and body contouring results.

BodyTite Enhancement Risks and Recovery

Before you leave the surgery center, we’ll provide you with a compression garment to help you heal. You’ll be able to go home immediately after treatment to start your recovery. You’ll likely have some mild swelling, bruising, and discomfort. Pain medication can be used to easily manage the discomfort, and your compression garment and resume normal activity 

You’ll need to avoid strenuous activities for at least two weeks. You can return to work in 1-2 days and resume exercise in approximately 2 weeks.  

As for results, you’ll see some immediate changes, and you’ll continue to see more over the next weeks and months as your swelling and bruising diminish, and your skin builds up more collagen and tightens. It takes about six months for the skin to significantly tighten and contour your new curves, and the full results can take up to a year to finally show up.  

The fat cells will never return, but the fat cells around the area can grow if you gain weight. With a healthy lifestyle, your skin-tightening results can last five years or more. 

Maintaining Skin Tightening with BodyTite Results

Most patients see improvements over the first two to three weeks, with final results developing in the months that follow as swelling diminishes and new collagen production takes effect. Strenuous exercise should be avoided for a couple of weeks, but you can usually resume light activities within days.
